This is the Bundestag, or Parliament, in Berlin. The architecture of the government buildings along the river Spree is spectacular. During the summer, there is a very nice sound and light show about the history of the area. The glass dome (centre, background), which represents transparency, was designed by the British architect Norman Foster.

Three words appear regularly on posters, leaflets and in exhibitions.

Freiheit, meaning Freedom or Liberty,

Einheit, meaning Unity

and Demokratie, meaning Democracy

Unity is interesting. As a subset of Unity, we could also add Respect, Tolerance, Equality, Rights and Obligations. Something to think about!
